West Loop’s Getting a New Spot From the Owner of Lincoln Park Italian Mainstays

The Vera space on Lake Street finally has a new tenant

Plus, longtime Loop Italian spot Bella Bacino’s will relocate and more intel

— The chef/owner of popular Lincoln Park Italian restaurants Riccardo Trattoria and Riccardo Enoteca is planning a new spot in the West Loop/Fulton Market. Riccardo Michi is taking over the shuttered Vera space at 1023 W. Lake Street, according to a liquor license application first noticed by Block Club. There are no additional details yet on its name, concept, or opening timeframe, so stay tuned.

— The owners of 36-year-old Wacker Drive Italian restaurant Bella Bacino’s, who announced its shutter in August but hoped to relocate nearby, revealed where it’ll relocate to. It’s heading around the corner to the Hilton Garden Inn at 66 E. Wacker Place, according to some of their Facebook comments, following the closing of its current location on October 15. There’s no word yet on when it’ll reopen in its new home.

Jimmy Kimmel Live will film at notorious Lincoln Park hot dog stand The Wiener’s Circle tonight at 6:30 p.m. and Guillermo from the late-night talk show will be behind the counter, the restaurant announced.

— On the heels of popularly serving CBD cocktails at its cannabis popup last weekend, Emporium Popups in Logan Square decided to keep serving them during its upcoming popup “The Void” with Solemn Oath Brewery. It’ll run from tomorrow, October 11 through November 3.

Forthcoming highly-anticipated restaurant Good Fortune will give diners a taste of what’s to come at four popup preview dinners at Lost Lake on October 15 and 16. Tickets and information are available here.

— And finally, internationally-renowned Swedish chef Magnus Nilsson will be in Chicago at Somerset for a book signing and cocktail reception with tastes of the book’s recipes on November 3, according to a news release and the Tribune. $80 tickets and more information are here.
