The local fast-casual favorite’s new spot is massive
Big & Little’s newest restaurant is much more big than little. The popular local fast-casual chain unveiled its newest location today in Logan Square, and rather than the brand’s usual small counter-service operation, this one features a full bar with cocktails and a massive front patio with a fire pit.
Owners Tony D’Alessandro and Gary Strauss previously compared the new spot, 3000 W. Fullerton Avenue, to Big Star with flatscreens. Like Big Star, a large front patio (this seats 200 outside) is separated from the inside by retractable garage doors. The fire pit should render the outside usable even during much of the cold weather. The interior has 11 TVs, table service, around 80 seats and the aforementioned bar — take a peek below.
The food menu offers Big & Little’s large selection of time-tested favorites: burgers, sandwiches, pizza, poke, and tacos. It also includes four plated dishes — a first for the chain — including chicken tinga and samurai beef short rib.
Alcohol service is also a first for D’Alessandro and Strauss. Seven signature cocktails are on the menu and they’re cheap, at either $7 or $8 each. Options include the “Gold Smoke” with tequila, mezcal, yellow chartreuse, bianco vermouth and Xocolati mole bitters. There’s also a decent selection of beer and cider for cheap, costing just $4 on the low end and topping out at $8. Wine is even available as well — the full menus are below.
Big & Little’s has come a long way since it begun with a tiny spot in River North more than eight years ago. The success of the original location, helped along by Guy Fieri, spawned more fast-casual spots in Wicker Park, Lakeview, and Midway Airport. Now ownership has unleashed their most noteworthy restaurant yet.
