Marcus Lemonis buys Lake Forest mansion

Marcus Lemonis, CEO of Camping World

Marcus Lemonis, CEO of Camping World and host of “The Profit,” bought a Lake Forest mansion, which happens to be next door to another mansion he owns.

He paid $1.85 million for the 6,500-square-foot home at 650 Lake Road, according to the Chicago Tribune. The neighboring home is a seven-bedroom, 7,405-square-foot mansion that Lemonis bought in 2013 for $4.95 million.

Lemonis has owned a number of luxury residence in Lake Forest and in Chicago, and in June he sold a Gold Coast condominium for $3.25 million.

The two-story house he bought last month in Lake Forest was built in 1930 and designed by architect Walter Frazier. It has 4½ baths, six fireplaces and a one-bedroom coach house.

Jean Anderson of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff represented both the sellers and Lemonis. She could not be reached for comment.

Lake Forest is home to the third priciest listing in the Chicago area, the 13,000-square-foot Wyldwood estate with a $15 million asking price.

The market for multimillion-dollar homes in the Chicago area has already outperformed last year’s tally, and market pros attributed the surge in luxury sales to a strong economy that has the rich more willing to spend. [Chicago Tribune] — John O’Brien
