Logan Square’s Latest Brewpub Opened Today With Experimental Beers and Artisan Breads

Pizza and beer is an undefeated combo and featured at Middle Brow Beer Bungalow.

Beer fans can now warm up inside Middle Brow Bungalow

This morning, Middle Brow Beer, a brewery that’s made beer since 2011, unveiled Middle Brow Bungalow, a new brewpub where customers can sample their brews and eat artisan thin-crust pizzas. The Logan Square space is also designed for the morning crowd with Gaslight Coffee Roasters beans and fresh-baked bread that diners can enjoy with jam or a selection of tinned fish.

It’s a bright and narrow space at 2840 W. Armitage Avenue with a set of 300-gallon foeders separating the dining space to the right of the entrance from the beer-making operation. It’s counter service during the day, but a full-service restaurant a night. There are a few plants and a vintage upright piano in the front area.

Pickles and spreads are available.

For warmer months, the space will have a different feel as the windows will open and lead toward a patio area. Besides the bread, which is also available to go, customers can feast on a rotating menu of thin-crust pizza. They’ll have vegan- and gluten-free options, too.

Middle Brow sees itself as an experimental brewery, to give drinkers more than IPAs and lagers. They’ll still have those styles among the 12 taps. But check out selections like the “Milk-Eyed Mender,” a 11.5-percent ABV barrel-aged imperial milk stout. The beer’s ingredient list includes orange zest, peppers, waffle cone, vanilla, and cacao.

Check out the space below and pizzas below. Middle Brow Bungalow debuted Thursday morning.
